Volunteers help

Meeting Timekeeper-see Jennifer Clark or Mary Blackburn

A member is needed to help with meeting time management on meeting days. A timekeeper is responsible for keeping the meeting on schedule by tracking the time each speaking member takes and ensuring they remain within the allocated slot by providing signals to speakers.

Publicity & Promotion- See Jennifer Clark

Assist with website, social media and other publicity as needed

Hospitality - See Carolyn Kimich

Set up/tear down for meetings. New Member Social & additional events as needed. Assist with phone calls/emails as needed.

Membership/Welcome Committee 3-5members - See Tina Hector

This committee will assist in greeting members/guests at general meetings or events. Calling/Emailing members to follow up on membership.

 

New Member Social – October (Date may change) - See Tina Hector

Assist in advertising, handing out flyers, set up/clean up, food.           

 

Senior Day - June (Date TBD) - See Mary Blackburn

Senior Day is held at the Expo Center in Navasota. Set up a GCRW table with giveaway items and sell GCRW cookbooks & merchandise

Gun Show – July (Date TBD) - See Mary Blackburn

Gun Show is held at the Expo Center in Navasota. Set up a GCRW table & sell Cookbooks and merchandise. Hand out information regarding GCRW membership.

Constitution Day – September (2 committees) - See Mary Blackburn

First committee will consist of 1-2 members that will select the book that is donated to each school's library. When the book is selected notify Mary Blackburn so it can be purchased. This to be done in July.

Second committees will be GCRW members that will deliver the Constitution Handbooks and the library book on September 17, 2026 and prepare a short presentation.

  • Anderson-Shiro

  • Madisonville

  • Richards

 

Nominating Committee; 3-5 members – See Mary Blackburn 

Submit your name and in September, you will need to be voted in by the GCRW members. Duties: In October, this committee will present the candidates running for any open GCRW Executive Board position to the members. (Voting will occur in November.) *You cannot be on the nominating committee if you have served the previous year*

2026 Legislative Committee - See Mari Baldwin

Committee members will stay on top of the legislative issue(s) of their choice. For their chosen issue(s) (I would recommend you choose only one) members will stay on top of the issue, in general and how it is being handled in the Texas House, as well as some specific bills that relate to that issue. Members will then commit to emailing a short, one paragraph or less, summary of the issue to Mari at  6 days before each month's meeting.

Newsletter - See Tina Hector

Assist in writing short articles about what the speakers shared at the meetings/events. Conducting short interviews with members for newsletter article.

​

Fundraising Committee (GCRW merchandise) - See Tina Hector

This committee will meet monthly (or less) outside of GCRW general meetings. This committee is responsible for creating and selecting new GCRW merchandise.

​

GCRW Boots & Bow Ties Dinner & Auction October 10, 2026 – See Tina Hector

(Various volunteer committees will be assembled for this event)
